Dhobi

A dhobi is a traditional washerman in India, who washes clothes by hand. dhobi ghat is a Hindi word meaning “washing place”. Dhobis are also called by other names in different parts of the subcontinent, such as dhuria in eastern India, dho in Pakistan, Bangladeshi and Nepali, and davangeri in southern India.

A dhobiadda or dhobighat is a place where dhobis work. The dhobi industry is a very old industry, which has been passed down from generation to generation. Dhobis use a variety of techniques to wash clothes, such as pounding, scrubbing, and rubbing.

Dhobis typically use a lot of water, and it is not uncommon for them to use up to 100 liters of water per wash. Dhobis usually wash clothes in batches, and each batch can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours to wash.

Dhobis typically charge by the piece, but some also charge by the weight of the clothes. The average dhobi earns around 200 rupees (about 3 dollars) per day.

The dhobi industry employs about 1.5 million people in India, and is an important part of the country’s economy. Dhobis play a vital role in keeping people clean, and their services are used by people of all classes and backgrounds.

Electrician

An electrician is a tradesman who specializes in electrical wiring of buildings, stationary machines, and related equipment. They are also experts in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems. Electricians work in a variety of settings, including residential, commercial, and industrial sites.

Most electricians learn their trade through an apprenticeship program that combines classroom instruction with on-the-job training. Electricians typically start out as journeymen, working under the supervision of more experienced electricians. Once they have gained the necessary experience, they can apply for a master electrician license.

Electricians are heavily regulated in most jurisdictions, and must follow strict safety rules in order to protect themselves and others from injuries. Electrical work can be dangerous, and even fatal, if it is not done properly.

If you need electrical work done in your home or business, make sure to hire a licensed electrician. Check references and reviews before hiring anyone, and make sure they are insured and bonded. Ask for a written estimate of the work to be done, and get everything in writing before work begins.

Be sure to have a clear understanding of the work to be done, and don’t hesitate to ask questions if anything is unclear. A good electrician will be happy to answer any questions you have. Once the work is completed, be sure to inspect it to make sure everything was done to your satisfaction.

Hawaldar

The job of a hawaldar is to maintain law and order within a district. They are responsible for patrolling their assigned area, investigating crimes and keeping the peace. A hawaldar typically works in an office, but may also be required to do field work.

For instance, a hawaldar gets to live in the village they are assigned to, which means they get to know the people in their community very well. They also get to work with a variety of people, including the village headman, the police force and the district magistrate.

A hawaldar must be physically fit and have good eyesight. They must also be able to read and write.

Khateeb

A Khateeb is a person who gives a sermon during Friday prayer. Khateebs are usually chosen from the pool of educated Muslim men in the community. The Khateeb’s job is to deliver a sermon (khutbah) that lasts about 20 minutes.

There are certain etiquette’s that a Khateeb must follow. For example, a Khateeb must make sure that his sermon is in accordance with the teachings of Islam. Moreover, the Khateeb should avoid using offensive language and should strive to make his sermon as inspiring as possible.

Giving a sermon can be a daunting task, but it is one that the Khateeb must perform with confidence. After all, the Khateeb is responsible for leading the community in prayer and ensuring that the Friday prayer is conducted smoothly.
